Information you give me
When you sign up for a free download (like the 7-day devotional or the A Taste of Greece recipe booklet), subscribe to new posts, or send me a message, I collect the information you enter, usually your name and email address.
I use it to send you what you asked for and occasional emails with stories, recipes, and updates about my books. My email list is managed through Mailchimp. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
I will never sell or rent your information.
Comments
If you leave a comment, the site collects what you enter in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser information to help catch spam. Comments are checked by Akismet, an anti-spam service. Your email may be checked against Gravatar to show your profile picture next to your comment.
Event RSVPs
If you RSVP for a book club or event, I collect your name and email so I can send you the details.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site collects basic visit information, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors found the site. I use Jetpack Stats (a WordPress tool) to see which posts are most helpful.
This site also uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), to measure the results of my Facebook and Instagram ads. It helps me see, for example, how many people who clicked an ad went on to download a free gift. Meta may use cookies to collect this information. You can manage how Meta uses your information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

That means some links on this site are affiliate links: if you click one and buy something on Amazon, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may use cookies to track those purchases. I only recommend books and products I believe in.

This site links to other websites, such as Amazon, Goodreads, BookBub, and my course site. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Embedded content
Some pages include videos or posts from other sites, like YouTube or Facebook. Those work as if you visited that site directly, and that site may collect information about you.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. There isn’t an industry standard for responding to it, so this site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
How long I keep your information and your rights
I keep your information until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove it. You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete the personal information I have about you at any time. Just email anna@hopeismyanchorbook.com and I’ll take care of it within 30 days.
