What This First Year Taught Me
When I first published Hope Is My Anchor, I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew I wanted to share an inspirational story, but I wasn’t chasing bestseller lists or viral moments. I was simply telling a story that mattered to my family, to my faith, and to my heart…and trusting God with the rest.
Now, a year later, I’m pausing to reflect. Not because the numbers are flashy, but because they represent something very real: readers, conversations, and a story that’s slowly making its way into the world.
Here’s where Hope Is My Anchor stands today:
- 38 reviews on Amazon, with a 4.7 average rating
- Over 300 books sold
- More than 29,000 Kindle Unlimited pages read, which equals roughly 83 additional full reads
- With those I have given away, that brings the total to over 400 copies out in the world
- And one of my favorite milestones: Hope Is My Anchor is now available at the Milford Library, thanks to a friend who believed in this story enough to make that happen
These numbers might not sound huge in a world of instant success stories and viral launches, but for an independent author publishing her first book, they mean a lot to me.
They mean someone chose to read my story.
Someone finished my book.
Someone took the time to leave a review.
Someone shared it with a friend.
Someone believed it belonged on a library shelf.
And that’s not nothing.
Writing this book was never about fast results. It was about faithfulness, telling a story rooted in hope, forgiveness, and resilience, and letting it find its way, slowly and organically, to the people who need it.
As I step into this next season, preparing for my next book and continuing to share stories, I’m deeply grateful. Grateful for readers, for encouragement, for small milestones that add up over time.
This feels like a beginning. A steady one. And one I’m proud of.
Thank you for being part of this journey. 🤍⚓
